Disconnection Permits and Exemptions

Disconnection Permit

A Disconnection Permit is required to disconnect from the public sanitary sewer or storm and surface water management systems. The permit allows the property a connection “credit” for future uses. A fee is charged for administration and inspection.

Storm and Surface Water Management System Exemption

Monthly Surface Water Management (SWM) service charges may be waived only if the property treats and disposes of all stormwater runoff on site by dry wells or large vegetated areas. To apply for an exemption, submit property dimensions and information about the on-site system with the SWM Charges Investigation fee. Staff will review the information and may need to inspect the site. If the exemption is not approved, the application fee will be credited to the applicant’s monthly Surface Water Management account.
